What We Grow

We Grow Beautiful Things

Our farm stand opens the second weekend in May (Friday, May 13th in 2022) and continues to be open weekends (Fri-Sat-Sun, 9 am- 6 pm) as supplies last. We specialize in growing rare, heirloom, and unique varieties that are hard to find in the stores. Find our 2022 seedling catalog below. In 2022, we will also be offering an assortment of cut flower starts to fill your garden with blooms as well as free range eggs, whole chicken, and U-Pick flower weekends starting in late-July.

For dried flower offerings, please check out our dried flower studio, Tenderfoot Flora. We offer bespoke everlasting arrangements, wreaths, storefront installations, and wedding flowers.

Our Offerings

Spring Seedlings

We grow high quality vegetable seedlings with varieties you can’t find in the big box stores. These are the same varieties we grow for ourselves here on the farm. Our seedlings are grown organically from seed in our greenhouses in VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES. We pot them in compostable 4-inch peat pots and harden them off here at the farm. Most plants are $3 each. Buy 6, get one free! Let us help you grow your garden. If you are interested in placing a pre-order, please email us before you come to the farm and we will pull your order and have it ready. We accept cash and Venmo.

Our LAST DAY will be Friday, May 28th! We are starting to sell out!

U-Pick Flowers

We are opening our farm to visitors! Starting in late July, we will be open on weekends for U-Pick Flowers through September. We grow thousands of flowers and believe it’s good for the soul to walk through a flower field and pick your own bouquet. We will post updates on our Facebook page to let everyone know when we are open for the season and have signage directing visitors to the back flower field. Larger groups (4+) are encouraged to pre-book through Airbnb Experiences.

  • We will have pruners available in limited supply but you are encouraged to bring your own snippers if you have them.
  • We also have 1-gallon buckets to cut into. THESE STAY AT THE FARM!
  • You are welcome to bring your own jar/bucket to take home your flowers or you can purchase a quart mason jar from us for $5.
  • Be sure to wear appropriate footwear for potentially wet and soggy fields.
  • Sunglasses, water bottles, hats, and sunscreen can make our sunshine filled fields a lot more enjoyable.
  • Some people enjoy wearing gloves and/or bug repellent. Please be aware that we welcome pollinators of all types but some of them sting!
  • Well-behaved kids are always welcome, but please note that flowers picked by little hands still count.
  • We welcome you to take photos of the flowers and your experience on the farm to share with your friends. #tenderfootfarm
  • We do not allow professional or amateur photography sessions during our U-Pick. If you want to have a photoshoot, please contact us separately!
  • We have a lot of farm creatures already! Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs.

We want you to enjoy your U-Pick experience, so we don’t limit the number of stems. We ask that you respect our farm business and don’t overstuff your vessel. We have three price points:

Bring-Your-Own Jar (32 oz or less) $20

You are welcome to bring your own jar (quart-sized mason jar or smaller) to take home your blooms.

Tenderfoot Jar $25

We have clean quart mason jars that you can take home with you. We charge $5 for the jar and it is yours to keep.

Bucket-o-Blooms $60

Hosting an event and need a lot of flowers? You can bring your own bucket and take home an armload of flowers (approx. 70 stems per bucket, max. 10 stems each of big blooms- dahlias + sunflowers). There’s a $10 deposit to take our bucket home with the hope that you’ll bring it back to the farm to get your ten bucks back.

Pastured Whole Chicken and Rainbow Eggs

We raise pastured chicken, fed locally produced non-GMO feed and grass. They live happily among the flowers in a chicken tractor moved to fresh grass every day. They are processed at Parker’s Poultry Processing in Swain, NY, a NYS 5A certified facility. We sell whole fresh or frozen chicken for $5/lb.

Thank you for your support! Our 2022 pastured chickens are SOLD OUT. Please reach out if you’d like to get on the list for our 2023 order.

Our beautiful rainbow eggs are produced by our heritage breed flock (these are laying hens, not used for meat!). We have about 40 hens who produce two dozen eggs every day. Our eggs are $4/dozen and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are interested in becoming one of our regular egg customers, please reach out!
