Hand Dyed Wool Yarn: Turquoise

Wool from our heritage breed sheep, processed and spun at Battenkill Mills, has been hand-dyed with botanicals grown on our farm. The dyes, though softer than standard chemical dyes, are color-fast and washable. Each skein is worsted weight yarn, 2-ply, with 176 yards. The wool comes from our heritage breed sheep, Lincoln Longwool, listed as “threatened” by the Livestock Conservancy. It is medium-grade wool with a springy texture, ideal for socks, hats, mittens, and needlework projects. Softer than the Dorset. Custom dye requests accepted.

This yarn is dyed with Black Knight Scabiosa flowers.
